Zarcero
Zarcero is the 11th canton of the Province of Alajuela. The city of Zarcero is located at an altitude of 1736 meters above sea level. It is considered an important tourist destination in the country due to its crafts and its park.
Its park is adorned with dozens of cypress trees carefully pruned to form different figures. You can walk on its park and enjoy the tunnel that leads to the main entrance of the church located in the background. Or walk through other areas and appreciate figures of animals in these trees.
If you are going to the North Zone (San Carlos) from the Central Valley or vice versa, a visit to its park is definitely a mandatory stop. Don’t forget to bring a sweater, as the weather is quite windy and cool most times of the year.
